Desert Metal Works
purchased its first laser in 1995. Laser cutting dramatically
changed our business. We have maintained our mission to be Arizona's
best laser job shop ever since.
As a laser job shop, we regularly cut a wide variety of
material from shim stock to heavy plate. We have cut mild steel up
to 3/4" thick, stainless steel up to 5/8" thick, and
aluminum up to 1/4" thick. We have cut titanium, inconel,
hasteloy, cobalt, brass, bronze, and many more metals. We have also cut plastics, wood,
and many other materials.

| Some
of Desert Metal Work's competitive advantages in the laser cutting
market are as follows:
Desert Metal Works is a true laser job shop. This means that our
primary daily focus is on mastering and keeping our lasers
productive.
We mastered laser cutting on a much more complete range of material
type, material thickness and special situation, than our competition.
Our talent in the widest possible variety of laser cutting jobs
allows us to set-up quicker, process jobs faster and solve unique
problems in a timely fashion.
We have a 3000 watt laser and a 2600 watt laser. More power yields
higher cutting speeds, lower processing times and lower pricing.
Trumpf is the manufacturer of both our lasers and their lasers are
the most productive lasers in the world. Whenever we've competed
against lasers from other manufacturers, we have consistently been
rewarded the contracts. We have always produced higher quality
edges and superior overall quality.

We have six thoroughly trained programmers. They have
all worked on a wide variety of projects from artistic
to extra tight tolerance. The projects included a very
wide range of materials and thicknesses as well as
special fixtures and solutions.
We have six completely trained laser operators. Multiple
operators allow us to adjust our schedule to meet our
customer's delivery requirements.
We have the in-house ability to do our own laser
maintenance. This ability keeps our lasers putting out consistently
high-quality parts. In-house maintenance allows us to
make consistent on time deliveries.
We have added a Trumpf TC 500- CNC punch to complement
the lasers. Whenever the punch and laser can be used on
the same part, substantial savings are possible.
Both of our lasers are equipped with optical probes. These
allow us to accurately laser cut on unusual parts or in a wide
variety of fixtures.
